changing.
The past...
different.
The present...
important.
The future...
different from the past.
The everyday...
sublime.

the everyday.
An artistic life...
complicated.

Photo that I've taken...
two glass doors painted with 'Save Me'.
Favorite photo that someone else has taken...
a picture that my Dad took of my Mom down Baja. She's on the beach with our Old English Sheepdog, Yogi Bear. She's got these really long, slender legs, and she's wearing white shorts and her Bernardo sandals. She's cut off at the top, so all you see are the shorts, sandals and Yogi. You can just make out the shadow of my Dad taking the photo.
Favorite work of art...
anything by Maya Lin or Luigi Ghirri
Favorite activity as a child...
treasure hunts.

What catches your eye?
colors, lines and shapes.
Most interesting thing in your wallet...
money.
If I could live anywhere, it would be...
France.
Because...
of the details.
Animal, vegetable, mineral...
Mineral, a black diamond.
Words to live by...
Life is what you make it. Design matters. Age means nothing.
Lucky charm...
I don't have one.
When I was little I dreamed of being...
an astrophysicist. I wanted to study the stars.
First travel memory...
driving through the Yorkshire Dales to visit my grandparents. Then, a visit to Betty's for tea. And finally, before bed, my grandmother's fairy cakes - white with a little red cherry on top.
Best travel memory...
a summer tour of Scottish castles. We slept in four poster beds, played croquet and got lost in overgrown gardens.
Best childhood memory...
exploring the caves beneath a friend's 500 year old Swiss farmhouse.
Ideal dinner party guests...
Bruno Munari, John Pawson, Karen Blixen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Alvar Aalto, Edith Piaf, Alice Waters, Queen Elizabeth and Robert Redford.
