Can you talk about what you were doing in Georgia (not the state)?
I'm working on a photo book about Georgia, and their current President. He's looking a bit fragile these days...

I've read that you describe your work as making fiction from reality, can you describe that a bit more?
It's very subjective. As a doc photographer, every image is completely created by me. The fiction is created by me, but based on reality.

How do you decide on a subject?
It's an idea of interest that makes the human subject. So, it's location based and concept based. But, the concept always comes first. For example, when thinking about audacity as a subject. Well, Dubai is the most audacious destination in the Middle East. It's about the concept and the location.

Describe your creative process?
Think of an idea. Do it. Publish it.

As an observer for so many years, what is the single greatest thing you have learned?
Life is unpredictable.

Do you consider yourself a teacher?
No... not really.

What do you love most about photography?
The fact that you can never control it. It always surprises...

Why color?
It's better than B&W.

What is your inspiration?
The world out there.

How much would say being British has influenced your work? and why?
I'm a very British photographer in that sense. Why? I can't tell you. You just have to live it.

You have a specific interest in tourism, why?
Because the expectation of a tourist trip is so opposite from the reality.

I love your photographs of food, talk about the concept behind them
Food is like a social landscape. It's a very interesting thing to photograph in close up.

What are you working on now?
Continuing to photograph Britain.

Can you talk about any future projects? Any shows planned for the future?
The beaches of Latin America. And, looking at luxury as an epitaph to the bubble, so, always the wealthy. Parrworld is in Paris this summer. Then, I'm off to the Baltic. Back for LOOK3 in Charlottesville, Virginia in June. That's all I can say.
